Established since 1930, F E Addlesee & Son in Boston has a reputation in the town for providing a first class service with dignity and respect.
When founder Frank Addlesee started the business in 1930 he carried out just twelve funerals a year with coffins hand made on site. This was of course alongside his carpentry work. Frank E. Addlesee without who we wouldn’t have the thriving business we have today.
Over time the business grew and when Frank passed away in 1982, his son Richard, who had been working with his Father since he was 15, took over the helm with wife Jenny. Their daughter Clare joined in 1998, and now a fourth generation has joined in the form of founder Frank Addlesee’s great grandson, Daniel.
Personal Service, Local Roots
We pride ourselves on offering a personal service to families at the most difficult times in their lives, giving help, support and guidance to plan a funeral that truly reflects their loved one.
Our premises are in the heart of Boston but we serve the wider villages too. We also travel country wide to cater for families who have relatives living afar.
We have three dedicated Chapels of Rest set in tranquil gardens where relatives are able to spend time after visiting loved ones — which we hope offers some comfort.

As a close-knit family business, we and our small team of employees take pride in our job and being able to contribute to make a difficult time slightly easier. Our service is personal and compassionate, and we will help to design a funeral that is a true celebration of a person's life.
Funeral DirectorAlan Barks
I joined the company in April 2022. I am a Funeral Director. Having worked in the industry for a number of years I can offer support and guidance to families in their time of need. I also take care of the pre-payment funeral plans for the company.
Pallbearer/DriverCraig Cunningham
I joined the company in June 2008. My duties are overall care and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles. I am a Pallbearer/Driver alongside workshop and office duties.
